When you think of South Texas, does wine come to mind? If you said no, you probably don't live here. Texas is the fastest growing producer of new vineyards and wine in the country. With over one hundred vineyards and wineries to choose from, everyone is sure to find just what they are looking for.
Our absolute favorite was found at the Austin Wine Festival in May of this year. We got rained out and spent most of our day huddled under a tent hosted by one of our favorite people and now favorite vineyards, Fall Creek at www.fcv.com. Susan Auler represented their wines that day and made us lifelong lovers of her wines and company. Cheers to Susan and their wines!
And as we plan our perfect wine-themed wedding we have to have our next favorite, chocolate! The two go so perfectly together it was only a matter of time before someone here is South Texas put their spin on it and turned the two into a beautiful combination. But the one who stole the show and made the whole trip to Austin worthwhile was Nicole Patel and Delysia Chocolates. Based out of Austin, Nicole has managed to make heaven available on earth wrapped in a Texas Wine truffle. We've had truffles before but WOW. These are unbelievably good and bursting with wonderful wine in each bite. OK, we ate them in one bite. They inspired us to do a wine themed wedding based off of one truffle so you know they were amazing. You provide the wine and you can have your own custom made truffles.
